FCA Cheerleading

Established in 2008

Opportunity for Impact:

  1. According to USA today, there are approximately 4 million cheerleaders in America today. Comparatively, there are only 2.4 million girls who participate in high school interscholastic sports. Approximately 350,000 cheerleaders attend cheer camp each summer. FCA Cheer is positioned to impact the lives of these girls by meeting their needs for a competitive cheer camp and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through the sport they love.
  2. FCA Cheerleading’s vision is to “see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of cheerleaders and coaches.” The mission of FCA Cheerleading is to present to cheerleaders and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.”

Ministry Strategy:

  1. Camp: There were seven FCA/UCA cheer camps in 2009. This year we will offer eleven camps. Of the over 800 cheerleaders at camp last year, 252 girls rededicated their lives or committed their hearts to Christ for the first time. Camps are offered in California, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Kansas, South Carolina, and Florida for the 2010 camp season. FCA/UCA Cheer Camps have the same UCA material and classes offered at every amazing UCA camp, with the added extras of an FCA praise and worship session, a Christian speaker, and an FCA Huddle Leader for each squad.
  2. Resource Development: FCA Cheer will develop resources to help our FCA Staff and volunteers better minister in the Cheerleading Community. We are developing a series of Team Devotionals written specifically for the Cheer Community.
